Deputy Director People & Culture

Job description

I am delighted to be working with an amazing charity in search of an Interim Director of People and Culture on a 6-month FTC. This role will see you working to ensure that the charity have an organisational culture that is aligned to their feminist principles and behaviours, encourages collaboration and flexible ways of working, and provides for an optimal working environment for them to deliver on the strategy in a safe and compliant manner.

Main duties:
Ensure that our people policies and practice effectively support our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, particularly our ambitions to become an anti-racist organisation.
Ensure that we recruit and retain talent enabling the charity to be an agile and flexible organisation underpinned by feminist principles, with the right people in the right roles at the right time, now and for the long term that aligns to organisational strategy
Build our employer brand so that it attracts talented individuals from a more diverse pool.
Ensure that the organisation's HR and Facilities policies and processes are both fit for purpose and the future, are shared with and understood by all colleagues.
Ensure that effective guidance, support and development is in place to equip all employees to perform at their best.in place and staff and management are supported in adhering to these

Essentials:
Designing and implementing People Strategies and Plans, including organisational development and design initiatives, that are aligned to, and support the achievement of organisational strategy (considering employment legislation, evidence, and the integration of best practice).
Handling complex ER situations offering guidance and coaching to the team and SLT.
Designing and implementing activities that enhance employee engagement, leadership capability, and provide the organisation with the right environment, and the right people with the right skills at the right time, in a safe and financially sustainable way. Desirable:
HR related professional qualification
Working in not-for-profit organisations
Total reward experience design and implementation of total reward strategies
Experience of managing Employment Tribunal claims (in collaboration with appointed legal advisors).
Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and its significance and links to the internal organisation and external environment.
Experience of delivering change programmes that drive and support to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
