Digital Community Assistant

Job description

An organisation in Hatfield, seek a Digital Community Assistant ASAP for 1-3 months on a full time basis.

At just 20 minutes from King's Cross station, this is a superb opportunity to work for a worthy cause and gain some experience within running a digital/online community.

Key responsibilities

Social Media:
Running our social media channels on a day-to-day basis, scheduling posts, responding to comments and directing queries as necessary.
Managing inbox messages via our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts
Support offline events with monitoring posts, live-tweeting and Instagram stories
Supporting the moderation of our pages and forums, posting updates where appropriate, and admin of join requests.
Pro-actively promoting the charity's products and services within our Facebook Forum (closed group) and other external pages on Facebook
Stay informed of upcoming trends and developments within the field of social media
Protect and enhance the organisation's public reputation when 'speaking' on its behalf via social media
Keep the Digital Manager informed of significant problems that might jeopardise the wellbeing of the organisation, escalating to the director and senior team where necessary

Website, Email marketing and reporting:
Keeping website pages up to date using our CMS (Content Management System), regularly testing existing pages and extensively testing new pages before going live.
Catalogue new/existing images and copy within the CMS.
Manage some technical aspects of our main website and microsites (including domain registration and renewals)
Raising web development/support tickets on behalf of the Digital team
Source and edit high quality images, using image manipulation software and uploading for online use e.g. Photoshop
Assist the Digital Content Officer in production of monthly e-newsletter and other targeted e-communications and campaigns (via Dotmailer and Engaging Networks).
Build and maintain relationships with external websites like bloggers and social influencers to increase site traffic




General:
Managing email queries via the Digital Inbox
Updating the Digital, Comms and Marketing planner (Trello board).
Provide support to Crohn's & Colitis UK staff and volunteers in the production of content and the use of CMS, social media channels or email marketing.
Provide admin support to senior members of the Digital team.
keep up to date with news and trends in the Crohn's and Colitis online community, using Google alerts, search methods and regular scanning of other Crohn's and Colitis accounts
