Digital Content Officer - 4dpw

Job description

Harris Hill is seeking a Digital Content Officer ASAP until August on a 4dpw basis within a national charity.

Main purpose:
To work with the Digital Content Lead to deliver for all major digital content delivery, including the main website, microsites, blogs, news and more, helping us to be more effective in our reach and engagement through the delivery of excellent, user-centric digital content.

To support with the implementation of digital content strategy. Co-ordinate, create and deliver high-quality content through data driven insights and best practice, helping to transform our organisation to being fit for the digital age.

Duties:
Deliver regular creation of exciting and engaging user-focused content on websites that is in line with our digital content strategy, supports the improvement of the website and that can be used as a basis for broader digital communications including email, social media and as part of new digital products - and is optimised for multiple platforms including mobile.
Understand the needs of our audiences through research, carry out content experiments and other forms of testing including A-B and multivariate testing, respond to feedback on content from our audiences and implement content changes on an iterative basis to optimise content for our audiences. Use digital analytics packages effectively to produce actionable analysis on our content and optimise it accordingly.
Use our Content Management System to maintain and publish goal-driven content in line with our content strategy on the website; ensuring that it is audience-appropriate, good quality and timely.
Work in partnership with other teams to deliver the objectives of our strategic plan related to this area of work. Enable our network of staff to initiate content themselves by designing and delivering training sessions and resources, and supporting them as required.
Author and edit website content in line with our content strategy and tone of voice and upload to our Content Management System, making sure pages are optimised for both desktop and mobile environments whilst optimising the user journey for our key audiences.
Support the digital content lead to manage our digital case studies and blogs, using girls' voices to enhance our content, communications and campaigns. Prioritise user-generated-content and create opportunities for digital storytelling in collaboration with girls and young women, experiment with new formats, keeping on top of innovations in order to create content in-line with our strategy, enhancing content with images and videos where appropriate.
Work with relevant members of the brand, marketing and communications department to support the implementation of internal content workflow and governance processes. Build strong relationships when working on projects including working in partnership with staff and volunteers, and to resolve queries from the membership regarding online content as required.
To understand the principles of digital development and to write simple HTML effectively for website content styling and email marketing.

Skills and experience:
Excellent communication skills with demonstrable ability in writing and editing content for digital channels including mobile
Excellent attention to detail and proofreading/copyediting skills
A strong understanding of multimedia content
Ability to use Content Management Systems (CMS) and Email Marketing System (EMS)
HTML, CSS and photo editing techniques.
Writing and editing digital content for a range of audiences
A wide range of tools for the management and optimisation of content
Measuring success of content and optimising based on metrics
