Director of Finance

Job description

Harris Hill are recruiting for a Director of Finance for this Independent School with Charitable Status based in London

The position requires you to cover the following:

Leading finance and operations

You will provide financial and strategic advice to the Trustees and strategic leadership team of this School.

- develop three year financial planning supporting the business plan
- deliver financial and other statutory, reporting and regulatory returns to a range of government departments and agencies
- provide revenue and staff cost modelling, forecasting reporting and analysis
- prepare clean audit opinions from external and internal audits
- prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts and VAT returns
- streamline administrative, procurement, financial systems and other processes reduce the number of transactions and people involved
- work with staff to improve their attendance and productivity

Governance improvement, board reporting and risk management

- Lead on programmes of organisation wide governance improvement, assurance and embedding risk management
- project managed board recruitment and director appointment processes
- lead the strategic response to regulatory inspections and secured good outcomes
- strengthen corporate and financial reporting, linking recommendations and findings to risk
- increase productivity by improving working practices and managed poorly performing staff out
- lead complex, high profile and sensitive investigations
- lead risk reporting to the Audit & Risk Committee

- Solve financial and operational challenges
- generate financial efficiencies from creating single, streamlined and standardised processes of safety and security across our sites, fencing gates, alarms and CCTV
