Director of Fundraising and Communications

Job description

Would you like to make a difference in mental health? Join Maudsley Charity as our new Director of Fundraising and Communications and become part of a growing organisation working to improve the lives of people most affected by mental illness.

It's an exciting time to join and help shape a charity which has a rich history and big ambitions for the future.
Based in South London, we work closely with South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust for whom we are an NHS Charity, Kings College London, and a wide range of community organisations to promote positive change in the world of mental health. The nature of our partnerships means that we have local and national impact.

We are able to support incredible research, clinical and community projects though our endowed funds and increasingly through fundraising income. Our projects range from multi million pound capital and research projects to small scale community initiatives supporting those who have been most severely affected by mental illness.

We are looking for a Director of Fundraising and Communications to join our team on a permanent basis.

The Maudsley Charity Director of Fundraising and Communications

Location: Denmark Hill, London (and home working)

Salary: £70,000-£80,000 per annum (dependent on experience) plus excellent benefits

Contract: Permanent

The Maudsley Charity is looking to appoint a Director of Fundraising and Communications to increase its impact through fundraising, external communication, the development of brand and partnerships.

The Charity has a large ongoing appeal to create a world first centre for children's mental health with its partners. Building on the success of this work the Director will look to develop and implement fundraising strategy beyond this appeal.

In parallel, the Charity is shortly to launch a new approach to grant-giving focussing on a small number of themes. This shift will enable greater impact, open doors to new partnerships and opportunities to increase the visibility and influence of the Charity.

The Charity is well positioned to develop and deliver its ambitions to build its income, increase engagement with its local communities and grow its own profile as a leading funder/driver of change in mental health.

The Director of Fundraising and Communications will develop strategy and operational plans and will build and develop a team who can deliver tangible results against the Charity's goals.
