Director of Fundraising & Communications

Job description

Do you have what it takes to grow the income of a successful local charity? Are you an excellent relationship-builder who would like to help restore wildlife and inspire people to take action for nature?

Sussex Wildlife Trust is a conservation charity for everyone who cares about nature in Sussex. We focus on protecting the wonderfully rich natural life that is found across our towns, countryside and coast. By working alongside local people we create opportunities for us all to connect with nature and for nature to thrive in even the most unlikely places. Together we want to make sure that future generations living in Sussex will be able to enjoy the sense of wonder and well-being that nature offers.

We are looking for a new Director of Fundraising and Communications to continue to grow our membership, develop our income streams, lead our first major capital appeal to build a visitor centre at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, and to shape our external communications to help achieve our vision for nature's recovery in Sussex. Our ideal candidate will be a highly successful fundraising, communications or marketing leader.

You will be a key member of the senior management team at the Trust, helping to shape and deliver our strategy and direction, supported by a team of 12 specialist fundraisers and communications professionals.

The successful candidate will have experience of working across both fundraising and communications disciplines including experience in developing regular giving/membership, grants, legacies, appeals and corporate partnerships with a good understanding of digital media, marketing communications and public relations.

Salary- 45,000- 50,000
Interviews will take place on the 14th of November
