London - 40,000 per annum

GambleAware

GambleAware is the leading charity in the UK committed to reducing gambling-related harms. As an independent national charity funded by donations from the gambling industry, GambleAware funds education, prevention and treatment services and commissions research to broaden public understanding of gambling-related harm. The aim is to stop people getting into problems with their gambling, and ensure that those that do develop problems receive fast and effective treatment and support.
They are now looking to expand their Education team and so are looking for an Education Manager to support and assist the Director of Education in the implementation of GambleAware's strategy and plan for the commissioning of education and prevention programmes, with the aim of reducing gambling-related harms in Great Britain.

As the Education Manager you will manage the education commissioning process to ensure the delivery of high quality, impactful programmes, projects and services

Key responsibilities will include:
-Developing project briefs, specifying the policy context, assessing need for the intervention and service design; assist in development of Invitations to Tender.
-Identifying and communicating with potential suppliers and experts for steering groups, matching the needs of specific projects and programmes.
-Assist in the evaluation of bids and preparation of recommendations for the awarding of funds.
-Assure the quality of projects and services, and their alignment with the Project Brief through providing support, comment and input to delivery teams through all stages of their implementation of the project.
-Coordinate and communicate with service providers, obtaining their input to ensure the quality and impact of projects and services, including collating comments and preparing meeting papers and agendas.
-Identify opportunities for and to communicate, disseminate and obtain impact from services, appropriate to each project.
-Assist in the overall development of the education function, including improvements to commissioning, knowledge exchange and impact, and interagency collaboration.

Skills and Experience required:
-Experience of designing, managing and/or commissioning projects and services in health, education, or similar settings.
-Demonstrable project management skills (Ideally with a Project management qualification)
-Knowledge and experience of performance management and quality assurance,
-Knowledge of gambling related harm or relevant field (for example, public health, health sociology, psychology) would be desirable.
-Knowledge and experience of using evidence to inform policy and practice.
-Experience of building positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders
-Good Financial skills with ability to manage budgets
