Gamble Aware - Education Officer

London - £26,000 - 12 month Maternity Cover 

Gamble Aware is the leading charity in Great Britain committed to reducing gambling-related harms. As an independent national charity funded by donations from the gambling industry, GambleAware funds education, prevention and treatment services and commissions research to broaden public understanding of gambling-related harm. The aim is to stop people getting into problems with their gambling, and ensure that those that do develop problems receive fast and effective treatment and support.

They are now looking for an Education Officer to provide maternity cover to support the Education Manager, and the Director of Education, to commission, effectively evaluate, and disseminate education and harm reduction activities.

Key Responsibilities:
-Support the monitoring and evaluation of all projects within the Education directorate, including data analysis, compiling reports and regular liaison with external service providers and/or research teams.
-Provide administrative support to a range of panels and committees including the Education and Treatment Committee.
-Assist with the development of a GambleAware conference and a range of other seminars and events.
-Contribute to the development tender documentation to support the commissioning process, and in particular the commissioning of harm minimisation and education programmes.
-Support the implementation of the funding application, monitoring and review process. -Act as first point of contact for harm reduction and education programme suppliers, providing administrative support for the programme
-Contribute to the development of policies and procedures for review by the Audit and Risk Committee
-Provide updates on academic literature and developments in gambling studies
-Develop and maintain close working relations with all key stakeholders including, in particular, the industry and all service providers.

Skills and Experience required:
-Educated to degree level, ideally in a relevant subject e.g. social sciences, health, economics, policy.
-Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage own workload
Proficient in the use of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) -Experience of accurately recording and producing minutes as well as producing own reports and correspondence using IT efficiently
-Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
-Ability to develop strong and effective relationships with all stakeholders
-Ability to work in a small, hands-on team working within tight budgetary constraints
