The International League of Dermatological Societies is a membership organisation which provides ongoing leadership and support to foster initiatives, projects and policies with global impact for those affected by skin disease. We want to attain the best possible skin health for all people around the world.

Our mission is to increase awareness, cooperation and communication within the global dermatology community to promote high quality education, clinical care, research and innovation that will improve skin health globally.

Today, the ILDS represents dermatology at the highest level with over 190 Member Societies from more than 80 countries and representing over 200,000 dermatologists worldwide. We provide strategic international leadership: working closely with the World Health Organization (WHO); developing guidelines and glossaries; raising awareness of skin conditions with our global campaign World Skin Health Day; and bringing together over 10,000 dermatologists during the World Congress of Dermatology to learn and share their professional experience.

Our Members are at the heart of what we do and are the driving force behind our vision to attain the best possible skin health for all people around the world. We recognise outstanding dermatologists around the world with our Awards, as well as providing project specific grants to support initiatives in under-served parts of the world.

Role: Executive Director, International League of Dermatological Societies

Salary: circa £75,000

Location: London

Contract: Permanent, full time

As Executive Director, you will be responsible for leading a well-established and talented team of nine to maintain and enhance the internal organisational processes and infrastructure that will allow the ILDS to continue to grow and fulfil our mission. As we seek to deliver our 2020-2023 strategy you will utilise your organisational management, fundraising, networking and relationship building skills to realise our current strategic goal of strengthening and improving access to skin health around the world through partnerships.

Amongst other criteria, the successful candidate will have:

  • Significant senior management experience in a socially responsible organisation
  • Experience of running a range of administrative and operational services
  • Demonstrable experience in financial planning and analysis
  • Previous experience of overseeing human resources, information technology, social media and legal issues
  • Demonstrable track record of success in developing and monitoring systems to manage both operational and programmatic work that involve high levels of collaboration
  • Previous experience of, or the ability to, work with people in a multi-cultural context
  • Track record of mentoring and developing staff with diverse background and skills
  • Experience of developing effective relationships with partner organisations
