External Affairs Officer

Job description

I'm working with a fantastic organisation who last year alone gave out over half a billion pounds (£508.5 million) of funding to over 11,000 community projects across the UK, enabling even more people and communities to bring their ideas and ambitions to life.

As External Affairs Officer you will will support their UK-wide engagement with the charity and voluntary sector and develop and deliver an external affairs plan which demonstrates the impact of their funding to stakeholders across Wales.

Reporting to the Head of Communications and Engagement, you will draw upon your experience to:

  • Formulate ideas around how key stakeholders and organisations can be turned into ambassadors for the organisation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with MPs and MSs and support colleagues across Wales to engage with parliamentary stakeholders.

You will have the following experience;

  • Experience of managing and co-ordinating an external affairs programme of activities, including organising and delivering events and producing creative copy to deadline that leads to positive engagement both online and offline.
    -Experience of developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders including MPs and MSs.
  • To speak Welsh is desirable, but not essential.

The organisation offers fantastic opportunities to grow and develop, they are incredibly supportive and focused on your learning and development.

You will need to be in the Cardiff office once a week, however you can work from home, flexibly 4 days a week. You could also be based in mid-Wales if you can travel to Cardiff when needed.

Salary: £24,528 to £27,884 plus amazing benefits.
Full-time, permanent role.
