I am currently looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to work for a major organisation that supports all charities and social change organisations.
As Finance Assistant, you will provide processing and administrative support for the financial accounting activities of the charity, and to provide a high-quality service internally and externally.
This exciting temporary position is a hands-on, challenging and varied role that requires you to manage and deliver concurrent activities with tight deadlines. You will be extremely well organised to manage a high workload as well as having a sound understanding of financial accounts, credit control and charity accounting.
Monitor the flow of sales invoices
Raise ad hoc invoices and credit notes as required and process any refunds required
Monitor the level of outstanding debt and undertake regular and adequate debt recovery procedures
Liaise with the customer, events and partnerships teams as necessary about account queries.
Track purchase invoices as they arrive in the office and ensure that they are entered accurately in the purchase ledger
Match invoices, expenses and charge cards to purchase orders ensuring that amounts are correct and coded to relevant budgets
Record all payments made to suppliers, staff and trustees in the purchase ledger and allocate those payments to the appropriate purchase documents
Maintain and update supplier and other account details within the purchase ledger
Deal with suppliers over payment queries including statements
Maintain a complete and suitable filing system of all purchase related documents
Monitor the bank accounts on a regular basis ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately in the relevant nominal ledgers
Input ad hoc nominal journals as required including any accruals and prepayments required at month end
