Finance Assistant (temp2perm)

Job description

We at Harris Hill are proud to be working with national charity working with schools, colleges and communities across the country to raise awareness about historical events and their contemporary relevance. 

The successful candidate will be an experienced Finance Assistant willing to work on an initial 1 year's contract with the potential for the role to turn into a perminate contract.

This role involves carrying out the day to day financial administration for the organisation and generally supporting the Finance Manager and Head of Operations to manage the organisation's finances.


Key responsibilities: 

Financial
Process and monitor all purchase invoices and expense claims
Reconcile supplier accounts and raise queries
Assist with preparation of payment runs
Maintain the petty cash and ensure accurate recording of all petty cash expenditure, including foreign currency.
Maintain the corporate credit cards
Issue / monitor sales invoices and credit control
Support the SMT in coordination of the annual budgeting process
Support the Finance Manager and Head of Operations with quarterly and annual management accounting tasks
Assist with regulatory filing

Essential Experience
Experience in a similar role with a UK charity / non-profit

Skills
Exceptional organisation, planning and administration skills.
Highly computer literate: confident and proficient with Word, Outlook and Sage 50 Accounts or similar.
High level skills and confidence using Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and spoken (face to face and phone) communication skills.
Excellent numeracy skills.

Qualities
Self-motivated, hands on individual with a can-do attitude.
Punctual, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality.
Able to work methodically, under own initiative and with minimal supervision
Has a good record of delivering work to deadline
Ability to work flexibly in a small team, building strong day-to-day relationships with colleagues.

(This role is temp to perm with an initial contract of 1 year.  There is no obligation (on both sides) for the position to turn into a perminate appointment).
