I am excited to be working alongside a fantastic medical charity in search of a motivated and hardworking part-time (3 day week) Finance Manager for 3 to 6 months. As Finance Manager you will provide solid financial support to the organisation, and help the support the team to deliver the current strategy 2021-23. We would love to hear from candidates with experience in charity finance.

Finance Role:
As Finance Manager you will be a key member of the team at the charity. You will be responsible for day to day accounting, and working with the CEO to provide financial management of the charity. The Finance Manager is also responsible for preparing the annual budget and reporting to the CEO and Board of Trustees on financial performance.

Finance tasks:
Prepare annual budget and forecasts
Prepare monthly management accounts
Carry out monthly bank reconciliations
Receive all purchase invoices and ensure they are appropriately authorised in accordance with the financial procedures
Make payments on all authorised invoices by BACS or cheque
Raise all invoices and requests for payment; chase outstanding invoices
Resolve all supplier enquiries
Receive all receipts and ensure payments are appropriately allocated on Xero (accounting package) and Salesforce (CRM)
Create appropriate book keeping entries, create accruals where necessary
Process tax and Gift Aid returns
Prepare SORP accounts and arrange audit

Finance reporting:
Provide regular finance updates to the Chief Executive Officer
Attend regular meetings with the Chief Executive Officer, Treasurer and other team members as needed
Ensure that the finance operational plan is updated each quarter against KPIs
Attend Board meetings and provide a quarterly finance update to the Board of Trustees
Ensure that the appropriate processes are in place for the long-term financial viability of the charity
Ensure the charity is accountable to its stakeholders and all relationships are managed, monitored in the best interests of the charity
Ensure financial policies and procedures are up to date
Ensure appropriate risk management and financial controls are embedded throughout the charity at strategic and operational levels
Help streamline the financial accounting processes by becoming more digital and automated
Provided an external interface with banks, auditors, pension fund and charity finance specialists
Completion and submission of Annual Returns for Charity Commission and Companies House
Payroll and pension administration
Assist with financial aspects of grant applications, contract negotiations, project proposals and commissioned projects
Work closely with the Fundraising Manager and Production Manager to feed into grant applications and production cost reporting.
