Finance Manager

Job description

I am excited to be working with a fantastic arts organisation is search of an Interim Finance Manager. This is an interim role, 3-4 days a week for an initial period of 3-6 months. There may be the possibility to extend. This role will see you working closely with the Director of Commercial and Philanthropy, Senior Development Manager, Marketing Manager, Head of Programmes and General Manager for one of the charity sites.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting

Work closely with the bookkeeper to ensure that the processes for capturing and coding financial data are robust and effective.

Ensure compliance, controls, policies and procedures are in place to ensure finance, governance, legislation and data regulations are upheld at all times, including across payroll, payment of performers, and employment.

Cash flow, creditor and debtor management to ensure management are supported to make payments which are appropriately prioritised and income is collected on a timely basis.

Manage the relationship with the organisation’s accountants, ensuring the preparation of the monthly management accounts and annual accounts for the charity and its commercial subsidiary are prepared on a timely basis and compliant with appropriate accounting/legal requirements.

Proactively engage in financial risk management, reporting concerns and mitigating risk accordingly, where needed.

Maintain recording and report balance of restricted and unrestricted funds, and position against Reserves Policy.

Record and manage Fixed Assets registers & depreciation.

Manage the monthly reconciliation of financial processes

Manage monthly payroll submission, reviewing reports to ensure payroll is accurate and signed off in accordance with monthly time frames and payments to staff and HMRC are made on

time.

Manage casual staff timesheet process and integrate with monthly payroll. and respond to queries on pension and payroll as needed.

Lead on the annual budget preparation process, including the creation of regular reports to the board of trustees, senior management team and project managers

Maintain oversight of systems, processes, and procedures within the finance function ensuring they are fit for purpose, capturing and coding transactions effectively, and supporting staff to deliver on their finance responsibilities with excellence.
