Your new role

As the financial controller you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting and financial process including the production of management and statutory accounts. Also for best practice bookkeeping, policies and procedures as well as ensuring appropriate financial controls.

You will be providing external interface with bankers, auditors, investment managers and other finance specialists. Liaising with all authorities on all tax matters, including Giftaid, pensions, PAYE & national insurance contributions.

You will be responsible for bookkeeping and accounting tasks including invoice processing, banking, petty cash, cheque and BACS payments and bank reconciliations. You will also be responsible for preparing monthly payroll and all statutory deductions and HMRC payments, payments to pension providers including all annual returns.

Preparing and presenting monthly management accounts to Chief Executive and Trustees is also a key part of the role.

What you’ll need to succeed

You will need to be a Qualified Accountant with minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role. Possess comprehensive IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365. All Microsoft packages, using a database and experience and knowledge of Xero and Sage.

You will also need excellent interpersonal skills and be able to engage socially with confidence to beneficiaries, benefactors and the wider public.

Previous charity sector experience is essential.
