Fundraising and Events Assistant

A fabulous opportunity for an experienced Fundraising and Events Assistant to join a great Charity based in Central London. The Charity is very well established with a focus on providing holocaust awareness to the education sector.

The Fundraising and Events Assistant post will be responsible for the administration of donations, managing the Donor database and maintaining accurate fundraising records. You will also play a key role in the administration for events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the donor database, ensuring all records are accurate.
  • Assist with the preparation of applications and reports for grant giving trusts.
  • Draw up thank you letters and receipts.
  • Record and update financial and non-financial information provided by supporters, such as Gift Aid declarations, data protection opt outs, supporters passing away, legacy pledges and other personal information in line with the Data Protection policy.
  • Contribute to the overall Fundraising strategy by helping to maintain existing levels of fundraising activity and deliver optimum service to donors and so maximising income.
  • Monitoring guest replies, updating guest information, inputting on database, preparing pledge cards etc.
  • Coordinate online/mail out fundraising campaigns.
  • Represent the charity at fundraising and educational events.
  • Respond to queries from the general public (by phone, post, email or in person) and work closely with other members of the fundraising team to ensure enquiries are dealt with effectively.
  • Assist with the administration of fundraising processes such as sending promotional materials to supporters, arranging collection (if necessary) and chasing income.

Person Specification:

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Experience of working in a charity.
  • Ability to prioritise a demanding workload.
  • Good numeracy skills and an understanding of budgeting and reporting.
  • Experience of database management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate well on the phone.
