Government Affairs and Events Officer

Harris Hill has an amazing opportunity for a Government Affairs and Events Officer to join an environmental charity for 5 months on a full time basis.

This integral role will support the Head of Government Affairs is setting up anand hosting international governmental visits, which will also include the delivery of COP26 in Glasgow this November. It will also include general governmental stakeholder engagement.

We are ideally looking for someone who has worked within a government public affairs team, setting up events or has some experience with the likes of the U.N in a similar capacity.

Accountabilities:
Support the Head of GA with the coordination of, planning for and delivery of existing COP26 proposals, and new ones which may arise, liaising closely with other Kew teams and external partners, including UK and international governments, ensuring strategic impact for the organisation, clear alignment with government priorities, and strong visibility

Support with the coordination of requests for governmental visits and events and delivery of these, again ensuring strong resonance of messaging for the charity

Support the broader mapping and engagement plans of the GA team as needed

Support other areas of GA work as needed, such as messaging development, briefs, helping shape policy/positioning opportunities, mapping our contributions to government priorities

Work with other teams across the organisation on events, comms outputs, meeting agendas/visit itineraries, briefings, etc. as needed

The client is being flexible on day rates but circa 35-50kpa. This works out at 150-250 per day, depending on PAYE or Ltd/ Umbrella status. Please do talk to us however as it's imperative that we get the right person.
