Head of Bid Management

Job description

A charity are looking for a Head of Bid Management for a Maternity Cover to oversee the day-to-day delivery of the buisness development strategy. You will oversee the delivery of winning tenders in line with annual income targets as well as ensuring that all bids attain the highest quality.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced team manager with a successful track record of tendering across health and social care, (ideally mental health, housing and/or substance use client groups in a business development role).

The charity offers flexible working so applications will be considered for candidates outside of London as long as you would be willing to travel to London 2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
-Manage the bid management team and their work to ensure effective delivery of the business development strategy day to day
-Provide quality review function and senior sign off of all tenders, including budgets.
Provide a programme of coaching, best practice development and continuous development for the bid management team to drive up quality around tendering.
-To develop and deliver effective process and systems to ensure coherent and consistent bid management across all group partners.
-Work closely with Head of Communications to ensure all bids are on brand and reflect accurately key organisational messages.
-Oversee the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive bid library.
-Provide regular performance management reports to Director and the Board including analysis of trends around feedback, market developments and horizon scanning.
-Develop SharePoint system to support effective workflow of all bids
-Be an active member of the group Senior Management Team and work collaboratively within this peer group

Skills and Experience required:
-Strong track record tendering across health and social care, specifically mental health, housing and substance use client groups in a business development role
-Proven experience of managing people, projects and teams
-Strong track record of building positive relationships with a range of stakeholders, internal and external
-Experience of developing systems and processes which improve delivery, ideally in a business development environment
-Proven experience/good understanding of health and social care sectors, specifically mental health, housing and/or substance use
-Demonstrable understanding of range of legislation affecting contracting and procurement
-Good knowledge, understanding and application of tendering and procurement processes
-Ability to work at a senior level in a collaborative and effective way
