Head of Finance

Job description

Harris Hill are looking for a Head of Finance for this Environmental Charity based in London

The position requires you to cover the following duties:

- Lead the year-end statutory accounts preparation, audit and budget setting processes
- Support the Chief Executive, Executive Chairman and Trustees and work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to provide strategic oversight
- Manage month end procedures and produce monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the finance department and be responsible for its reporting systems and accounting controls
- Review internal controls and update finance policies and procedures manual accordingly
- Prepare and submit Annual Returns to Companies House and the Charity Commission
- Prepare and submit P11d and PSA returns, VAT returns and Gift Aid returns to HMRC
- Monitoring inter-company accounts, calculating recharges and raising invoices
- Develop stakeholder relationships with the auditors, bank relationship manager and external service providers
- Establish and develop the finance and operations team
- Other duties as necessary from time to time
- Producing accounts in accordance with SORP FRS 102High degree of initiative and the ability to take responsibility for the effective operation of the finance and operations functions
- Submitting VAT returns using the Partial Exemption method

You will need to be a fully qualified accountant
