A Mental Health charity that is focused advancing the understanding of mental health through research and innovation.

Your new role

As the temporary Head of Finance, you will be managing the charity’s finances to the highest standards, including ensuring effective cash management, timely filing of VAT returns and statutory annual accounts / annual return and timely delivery of management accounts, liaising with external accountants on the preparation of monthly ledgers. You will be leading development of the charity’s annual budget, working in collaboration with the Senior Management Team and Finance and Audit Committee. You will also be advising the Chief Executive and trustees on developments in charity finance and governance and supporting the continual improvement of the charity’s processes.

What you’ll need to succeed

To succeed you will need a relevant professional in accountancy (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CIPFA). You will also need previous charity experience as strong knowledge of the charity accounting SORP is essential. You will need experience in a similar position, providing solid financial information, annual reports, and accounts for non-financial experts. You will also need experience of long-term financial budgeting, modelling, forecasting and risk management.

What you’ll get in return

This organisation offers significant flexibility, an hourly rate up to £30 and potential for the assignment to be extended.
