Harris Hill are recruiting for a Head of Finance & Operations for a Faith based Homeless and Human Rights Charity based in London.

The position requires someone with a wide skill base, to ensure that financial resources & IT systems are used to support the objectives and vision of the Charity.

The role is responsible for Treasury & Finance functions, setting the strategic direction for IT systems and leading Procurement processes.

As a fully qualified accountant the Head of Finance & IT will be responsible for setting financial policy, preparing statutory financial statements, management reports and annual & multi-year financial plans. The role will support the Finance Director in the preparation of financial strategy for authorisation by the Leadership Team, Finance subcommittee and Board of Directors.

The Head of Finance & IT will lead both the Finance and IT teams supporting them in their work and personal development.
The role will include:

Treasury - tightly monitoring cash flow, raising debt in good time and investing capital receipts from property development in line with LCM's investment policy.

Procurement - advising cost centre managers on best procurement practice and leading cyclical retendering of major expenditure.

IT strategy - develop and lead the implementation of an IT strategy that supports efficient business processes, enables LCM staff to work collaboratively and use new technologies to innovate in its ministry. (In conjunction with members of the Leadership Team.)

Financial Management - plan, monitor and report financial performance at the organisational & departmental level, analyse variances from the Annual Financial Plan (AFP) and assist with the development of responses by Leadership Team members.

Financial processes - lead a team responsible for payroll, ledgers and accounts payable. Implement financial policies including capitalisation, impairment and asset valuation.

Financial Reporting - preparation of statutory accounts, management of audit requirements and governance to comply with statutory and external requirements.
