Harris Hill Charity recruiters are proud to be working with a medical research charity looking for Head of Finance & Resources on a temporary basis to support a highly motivated and supportive team.

The successful candidate will be taking on a varied role with two functions - financial management and HR support.
We are looking for an experienced Head of Finance and Resources with an understanding of charity accounting and the ability to work with charity budgets. You will regularly report to the Senior Management Team and contribute to the Board meetings.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience of financial management and HR support within a charity. You will be at least part qualified and a proficient user of Sage 50 Accounts. You will have experience in a wide range of financial processes and reporting with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance people.

Above all you will be committed to lead the finance and HR functions within the charity.

There will be a short hand-over period with the existing Director of Finance & Resources, during which time support and guidance will be given.

The ideal candidate will:-
AAT qualified, part qualified CIMA/ACCA or (qualified by experience)
A user of Sage 50

Experience/Knowledge:
Responsibility for financial day to day management within a charity
Experience of charity finance reporting and practices (SORP)
Knowledge and experience of financial systems and processes
Preparation of financial reports including; management accounts, cash flow, SOFA, and balance sheet
Preparation of budgets and budget management
Management of annual audit
Knowledge and understanding of HR processes including payroll and recruitment
Excellent IT skills, particular Excel, Word and Outlook
