Head of Grants (Interim)

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a national membership organisation as Head of Grants on an interim basis. The role will manage the organisations grant making functions and working with the Director of Operations, define, develop and implement a robust grants scheme. The post holder will be responsible for the appropriate tracking of grant applications, award decisions, grant payments and grant outcome reporting. 
 
Key responsibilities will include:
Working with the Operational Director to develop an operational plan for a sustainable Grants scheme to member charities.
Assisting in defining and developing grant eligibility and grant criteria, application process and reporting for future grant schemes.
Provide Grant monitoring, analysis and reporting, highlighting any positive or negative trends and identified risks.
Monitor and respond to members Grants enquiries and escalate concerns or common themes as appropriate.
 
The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:
Demonstrable experience of managing an external grants programme in excess of £1m.
Knowledge of the through granting process.
Experience of grant management software and reporting.
An understanding of the landscape of grant making, ideally within the Health charity sector.
 
The role will be home based, with 1 day per week in the head office in Warwick. The initial contract is full time, for a 6 month period.
