Head of Mass Participation Fundraising

Job description

I am working on a very rare and exciting opportunity for an exceptional candidate to lead the next stage of transformational growth in Mass Participation fundraising at the NSPCC, making a difference to the lives of countless children. In this exciting opportunity, you will not only develop and implement a strategy to transform income in our wide-ranging events and products portfolio but lead in establishing the income generating moments of Childhood Day and the Christmas Appeal.

One of the defining characteristics of NSPCC voluntary income generation is the support that is provided by volunteers and participants based in their local community. This post sits within the Community Supporters team, which exists to help volunteers and supporters give their time, money and influence to fulfil the NSPCC's mission. Mass Participation is a vital growth driver in the NSPCC's new income generation strategy, which will hugely increase the scale of the NSPCC's ability to end child abuse. The post holder will lead and develop a first-class team to develop our portfolio, ensuring it is sector leading and growing significantly year on year.

Supporter experience is at the heart of this role, so the successful candidate will also show their customer centric thinking by delivering incredible event experiences, inclusive and accessible products and inspiring campaign messaging.

About you
As an impactful leader, you'll also contribute to the overall growth and effectiveness of the Income Generation Directorate. To be successful in this role you will have an excellent understanding and knowledge of a broad range of innovative fundraising and events methods and principles and a thorough understanding of marketing techniques (especially digital marketing).

You'll have extensive experience of organising or commissioning large scale mass participation events within an income generating capacity, and a track record of managing and delivering significant and complex budgets, and of devising and delivering a strategy to achieve growth.

With demonstrable leadership experience and line management responsibility for large and diverse teams, and excellent organisational and planning skills, you will have a "can do" attitude, a team player and be solutions focused, results orientated, and confident at negotiation.

NSPCC operates a flexible working policy. You can be predominantly homebased in this role on the understanding that you will need to be at the London HQ two days per week.
