Head of Programmes

Harris Hill are working with Tutors United, to help find a new Head of Programmes to lead the programmes team and oversee the delivery and management of their educational programmes across London.

With good knowledge of the curriculum and the education sector, the Head of Programmes will be responsible for the overall quality assurance, development and successful delivery of programmes. You will manage the programmes team and ensure the highest quality of tutoring and tutor training is being delivered while ensuring policies are updated, and processes are automated, so they are prepared for ambitious growth plans.

Working closely with partners and clients, the Head of Programmes will oversee the delivery of programmes from start to end, ranging from curriculum updates, tutor recruitment, parent evenings and impact measurement data collection to ensure the programmes are successful. This role provides a benefit of having interaction with frontline beneficiaries while having responsibility for the strategic direction and development of tutoring programmes that will be supporting over 400 families each year.

We are looking for an effective planner, experienced in education (ideally primary) who has the ability to adapt to change to produce the best outcomes for pupils and tutors.

Key Responsibilities:
-Managing a programmes budget and ensuring the programme runs as cost effective as possible
-Automating the programmes processes to minimise admin and ensure we can efficiently capture pupil progress
-Working with the programmes team to create the end of programme and end of year reports
-Overseeing effective quality assurance of the programme, in lesson observations, tutor training, and the curriculum
-Overseeing the collection of pupil assessments and progress data
-Evaluating the progress of the pupils and adapting our work to maximise their progress
-Innovating and adapting the programmes to respond to the needs of our beneficiaries
Identifying demand within our clients and beneficiaries and developing new programmes to meet needs and maximise our business potential
Building partnerships for our tutor offer and overseeing the successful recruitment and retention of tutors
-Working closely with clients on their programmes and successfully initiating client referrals
-Working closely with the Chief Exec to shape the direction of the programmes and identify new partnership opportunities

Skills and Experience required:
-Previous teaching experience (primary or secondary)
-Good understanding of the primary maths and English curriculum
-Ability to identify, manage and minimise risks
-Ability to monitor and evaluate data and use data to make decisions
-Understanding of child protection and data protection
-Excellent IT skills including Excel and use of word processing packages, including Microsoft Office
-Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
-Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to present at meetings
-Experienced in working with multiple Stakeholders
-Good programme/project management experience
