Citizens Advice Tunbridge Wells and District (CATWD) is an independent charity within the national Citizens Advice network, whose members are committed to offering free confidential advice online, by phone, and in person to everyone who needs it. Last year Citizens Advice offered advice to 2.8 million people by phone, email or webchat, and the advice website had over 34 million visits.

Operating independently within the national network, CATWD has a budget of over £500,000 and a staff of around 20 paid employees and 40-50 volunteer advisers. Last year they helped resolve over 12,000 with often complex queries. They have developed a range of projects in recent years and are working in partnership with various funders ranging from Kent County Council and the NHS to small local charities.

We are recruiting for a new senior management role at CATWD. As an experienced project leader, you will provide leadership to a number of projects, working to continue the development of our advice offering to the residents of this large borough. You will be a member of a senior management team of three and will work closely with your colleagues to shape the future of the charity.

Job title: Head of Projects

Salary: In the range £30,000 to £33,000 per annum, according to experience.

Hours: Full time (37.5 hours per week)

Location: Initially working from home, and then based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Some continuing working from home is possible. Some travel to outreach locations.

Purpose of Role

To have responsibility for a portfolio of CA projects and programmes, managing project staff and being accountable for project reporting requirements. The postholder will develop relationships with the relevant stakeholders and will work with the Fundraising Manager and Chief Executive to ensure continuation funding where appropriate. They will ensure new projects are implemented smoothly and that project staff are appropriately supported and developed.
