Housing First Worker
Job description
Harris Hill is delighted to be working with a homelessness charity to recruit a Housing First Worker for their team in Tower Hamlets.
Salary: £16,682 (pro-rated salary)
Hours: 18.75 per week, Monday–Friday
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a passionate and supportive organisation that has been working for over 35 years to support people experiencing homelessness. The charity provides a wide range of accommodation and support services across London, recognising that homelessness is not just about housing, but also about addressing personal challenges and barriers.
The Role
As a Housing First Worker, you will play a crucial role in delivering the organisation’s Housing First model. This involves providing independent tenancies alongside intensive, personalised support for individuals with complex needs who have not progressed through traditional supported housing pathways.
You will:
Build and maintain strong, proactive relationships with clients
Deliver personalised tenancy support, including welfare rights, health, and community integration
Carry out assessments, risk management and case reviews
Support clients in developing the skills and confidence to sustain their tenancies
Work collaboratively with outreach teams, housing providers, and external agencies
Advocate on behalf of clients where needed and encourage self-advocacy
About You
We are looking for someone with:
Experience supporting people experiencing homelessness, rough sleeping or complex needs
Knowledge of risk management, safeguarding and multi-agency working
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate case records
Emotional resilience and a creative, solution-focused approach
A commitment to equality, respect and client empowerment
The organisation is driven by values of working together, being aspirational, respectful, determined and visionary. They welcome applicants from all backgrounds, recognising that diverse teams are best placed to meet the complex challenges of homelessness.
