The position:

(Interim - fixed term role for 18 - 20 months, with the potential for development and permanency as the organization goes through a period of change.)

Location:

You can work from home, 5 days a week. You will need to travel to the offices in Newcastle a few times a month. There is complete flexibility.

CISV is going through an exciting and challenging period of development and change.  Effective communication is more important than ever; externally and even more so internally.  As an international membership organization, we know the importance of having a shared understanding of our goals and strategic direction. 

We are looking for a seasoned professional, a brand champion and guardian, with experience in member engagement, selecting and optimizing communication methods and channels, the ability to represent the organization in times of celebration and of crisis and to build strong relationships with stakeholders.

You will ensure that organizational communications influence organizational culture and are aligned to support the quality and safety of our people and programmes and our strategic direction.

The Communications Lead will report to the Secretary General, join the Senior Management Team and work directly with staff and volunteers, including our Governing Board.  They will also line-manage the Communications and Partnerships Coordinator and be responsible for the communications budget.

Previous experience:

  • Internal Communications experience
  • Member engagement experience
  • Crisis communications experience

The post will be subject to DBS Enhanced clearance.

Salary:

£36,000- £42,000 dependent on experience
