Major Donor Officer (open to other Fundraising backgrounds)

Job description

Harris Hill are delighted to be working exclusively with a brilliant international development charity. They have created two brand new roles within their Major Giving team; a Major Donor Officer. These two roles will be responsible for cultivating existing donors and contacting potential donors that have been sourced by the prospect research team

This is a great role for some one who has been at a smaller charity as an officer level, or someone who has a 2+ years of fundraising experience. They are open to experience, so if you have a background in major donor, corporate or challenge events fundraising and are looking to transition over, then this will be the role for you.

The major donor team sits in the Philanthropic Partnerships team (PPT), which is responsible for all major donor, trust and foundation relationships and income (£10k - £1m plus). It is a high-growth, exciting and innovative team, having increased annual revenue from £1.5m in 2012 to over £6m in 2022.

To be considered for this role:

  • Ability to provide a high level of relationship management to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Experienced in working in a fundraising environment, managing and prioritising a portfolio of existing and prospective funders
  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to build relationships, negotiate and persuade a wide range of audiences both internally and externally
