Management Accountant

Management Accountant job on a 7 month contract (Potential to be made permanent).

Your main duties

You will be leading on the preparation of monthly management accounts, which include:

Managing monthly management accounts production timetable, thorough review of management accounts output, monthly payroll reconciliations and reconciling control accounts on monthly basis

You will be supporting the Finance Manager on the production aspects of the charity’s annual budget, to include; Work with and support budget holders as appropriate to ensure the timely and accurate completion of their budgets and identifying and implement improvements in the budgeting processes, where appropriate.

You will be working alongside the Finance Manager on the preparation of the annual accounts

process, to include: Producing a draft set of statutory accounts for the charity on a timely basis that meets Charity Commission and Companies Act accounting and disclosure requirements, ensuring clear processes are in place for the recognition and recording of restricted funds and their movements and that restricted funds balances are accurate and correctly disclosed in the annual accounts and liaise with the external auditors and other parties as appropriate during the audit and in resolving audit queries

Updating the monthly cash flow forecast forecasting on a timely basis to align with management accounts reporting and for reporting to the Finance & Resources Committee.

What do I need?

You will be a Qualified or Part Qualified accountant with a recognised professional qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA

You will also need a proven track record in financial accounting in the charity sector with experience of Leading on preparation of monthly management accounts, preparing annual accounts in line with Charity SORP, Preparing budgets, reviewing monthly management accounts and updating year end forecasts.

Excellent working knowledge of Sage 50 Accounting or equivalent Finance software and technically strong on accounting issues specific to not-for-profit organisations.

What’s on offer?

A pro rata salary of £40,000, 27 days per annum (pro rata for duration of contract) with company benefits plus potential for role to be made permanent.
