Marketing and Communications Officer

Job description

A great opportunity has arisen for a Marketing and Communications Officer for a children related charity in order to support in the implementation of an integrated marketing and communications programme to increase public awareness of and engagement with the charity. This will be a temporary role for approximately 2 months.


Key Responsibilities will include:

Manage the charity s social media channels and use website and social media analytics to assess impact and identify new opportunities.
Manage supporter engagements and interactions across all channels.
Generate engaging content for use across the organisation, working closely with the Communications Manager.
Support the creation of storytelling content inside the charity programme.
Work with the Deputy Marketing Director to develop fundraising marketing materials to develop and grow new income streams.
Work with the Deputy Marketing Director to manage the external quarterly brand tracker, and yearly depth reporting.
Compile quarterly departmental impact reports for use at Senior Management Team and Trustee level.
Report on wider communications and marketing activity, including producing post- campaign reports.
Oversee the creation and production of printed collateral as necessary.
Work with external agencies and stakeholders to deliver projects, building excellent relationships.
Ensure our supporters are communicated with sensitively and efficiently.
Identify new marketing opportunities.


In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

PC Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint so that no further training is required to do the job.
Database skills (preferably Raiser s Edge)
Project management skills
Experience of working in a communications or marketing function
Experience of building relationships with a range of stakeholders
Experience of using traditional and innovative media and communication channels including online campaigns
Design, image and video editing software, website content management systems, social media platforms and ability to pick up new tools quickly.
