A great opportunity has arisen for a Temporary Marketing Manager for an independent school in order to produce key promotional and reporting materials online and in print, alongside overseeing the general day-to-day marketing activities for the School. Marketing Manager will also be integral to the promotion of fundraising projects and activities across the school. This new post requires an experienced marketing professional to manage the brand, design & print, website & social media and support the delivery of marketing and development campaigns for the institution.
This will be a temporary role for approximately 2-3 months.
Key Responsibilities will include:
To support the Communications & Marketing Director, working closely with the Admissions and Development Offices to ensure that the School s vision, ethos and brand is conveyed consistently, appropriately and effectively through high quality internal and external communications.
Promote, maintain and encourage consistency of brand message and identity internally, across all internal communications and educational partnerships.
Maintain the external use of the School s brand guidelines, ensuring consistency of message is achieved across all digital and off-line media.
Aid in the delivery of the marketing strategy for the School, using market research and competitor analysis to influence brand strategy and planning.
Working closely with the CMD, Admissions and Development Offices to deliver the annual advertising plan.
Coordinate merchandise production and sales across the School.
Keep up to date with matters of compliance and best practice within the sector.
Manage the production of marketing printed materials, including but not limited to: prospectuses, open day literature, welcome packs, events brochures, academic publications and newsletters.
Support with the production of the annual Senior and Junior School magazines.
To develop, collate and edit content (and edit copy written by others) for the School website, newsletters, press articles, publications and advertisements as required, liaising with relevant staff for content, as required.
Proofread and edit all branded publications produced by the School.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing communications.
Manage the production of the School s Development annual report.
Support the Development team with fundraising events, working across departments to ensure consistency and effectiveness of communication.
Manage the School s online systems, ensuring consistency of message and style, to include the School s website, Alumni website, school s Connect, Parent Portal and Intranet.
Develop the School and Club social media channels, supported by the Communications & Marketing Assistant, to create dynamic content across the School and Alumni online platforms, identifying new channels which complement the brand objectives.
Proofread, edit and create accurate and engaging copy from a range of sources for use on the website, social media and Parent Portal.
Coordinate photographers for all community events, school activity, social media and publications.
In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:
Professional communications or marketing experience, working preferably within a charitable organisation or school setting.
A track record of creating and delivering sophisticated marketing materials and communications content across multiple channels.
Experience working with CMS.
Strong IT skills: highly proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs.
Understanding of how social media tools can enhance the efficacy of the school s communications strategy.
Knowledge of desktop publishing and design tools (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator etc.)
Knowledge of working with a sophisticated CRM database preferably Raiser s Edge.
Hardworking, driven and flexible and good at dealing with a multi-faceted workload.
An enthusiastic and positive attitude.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Highly literate and numerate, with strong appropriate IT skills and a keen eye for detail.
Highly accomplished in the area of inter-personal skills with a proven track record of building trusted relationships with a wide variety of individuals including sophisticated and diverse alumni, parents, benefactors and potential benefactors of all ages and nationalities.
