Media and Comms Officer

Harris Hill is working with an Education charity, in their urgent search to find cover whilst they recruit permanently.

The role is currently vacant, so an immediate start is essential. The role will be ongoing whilst they recruit to the role however, this does mean it could become permanent for the right person.

The role itself can be flexible on remoteness but may need some office attendance for important meetings, induction etc.

This role is responsible for carrying out media relations and communications activity to increase awareness, to reach target demographics and communities with topical messaging, and to drive support for our work.

We are looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

Recent experience (minimum three years) working as a Media Officer or in a media role, preferably with some knowledge of the education sector
Working with journalists to secure positive national and regional media coverage
Planning, implementing and evaluating media campaigns
Working with case studies and beneficiaries to secure positive media coverage of their experiences
Writing for different audiences/contexts
Interpreting and identifying strong media/news angles from research reports
Proofreading
