Media and PR Manager

Job description

Are you a media relations expert, a confident leader and a wonderful writer? Would you be excited to raise the awareness of an organisation who advocate for ‘unlocking the future’ to help solve global challenges such as climate change and improving health outcomes? The Institute of Physics have a new strategy, and they are looking for a Media and PR Manager to lead media for the whole organisation, driving their profile forwards and overseeing the creation, management and development of plans and activities.

Is this role for you?

This is an exciting time to join the charity, joining a new communications team, who want to make physics relevant to all and develop an integrated approach that delivers beautiful copy and impactful work.

You will be an established media manager, at the equivalent of a Head of role, reporting directly to the lead communications professional in the charity.

You will join a collaborative organisation, build and develop a high performing team, and take overall responsibility for proactive and effective media response. The main goal of the team is to deliver an effective media programme which helps raise awareness and understanding, drives attitudinal change and inspires key audiences in pursuit of IOP’s strategic objectives.

Previous knowledge or understanding of physics is not necessary, but working with consumer media and previous PR experience is key.
