Job description

A great opportunity has arisen for a temporary Media and Press Manager for a national charity based in London in order to lead on press strategy, media messaging, press releases, op-eds and blogs, and media relations in general during the period of 2 months.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering quality press coverage ideally in a relevant policy area and an understanding of how the charity can maximise media coverage both for its reports and by reacting to the news agenda.

Generate press coverage for the charity's work in the national, specialist, regional and online media.
Play a role in writing, editing and commenting on the charity's range of materials from research publications, web content and corporate materials.
Write and place opinion pieces, articles and commentary from the charity in the mainstream press.
Edit blogposts written by the charity staff and write blogposts on behalf of senior staff.
Advise the research team and senior management team on press and media angles and issues.
Manage relationships with key reporters and media contacts to raise the charity s overall profile.
Manage the charity s relationships with its external communications suppliers (including its media database and clippings agency).
