Media and Press Officer

Harris Hill are delighted to be supporting a fantastic national not-for-profit in their search for a Media and PR Officer.

You will join a busy Media and PR team playing a pivotal role in generating positive media coverage and content in support of the organisation’s objectives.

The role works across both reactive and proactive media activity, responding to press office enquiries from national, regional and trade media. You’ll also support the development and delivery of multi-channel media and PR campaigns.

The organisation has been a trusted travel brand for over 70 years. Their purpose is to help Members to grow their businesses successfully and sustainably, and to help their customers travel with confidence. The issues and campaigns that you will be involved with in this role are therefore wide reaching with no two days the same.  

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to consistently produce high quality copy and content for consumer and corporate audiences
  • Solid media relations experience
  • Skills and experience in working in a busy press office, managing multiple requests and deadlines from journalists at a single time
  • Strong news sense with ability to identify opportunities and risks
  • Experience of effectively targeting and pitching stories to journalists
  • Creative thinking combined with strong judgement to ensure media outcomes support the organisation’s objectives

Salary                  Circa £32,000

Location              London (with Hybrid working pattern)

Contract              Permanent
