Media Relations and Communications Officer

Job description

Harris Hill is looking for a Media Relations and Communications Officer from 9th January for 6-8 weeks to support a medical/ health charity in one of their national campaigns. 

Key responsibilities to include:

Leading on communications with partner organisations on campaign.
Sourcing case studies sensitively from member organisations
Editing case study copy for use by media and on website, social media etc.
Pitching blogs and features based on the campaign case studies
Supporting the Head of PR & Media on other media work for the campaign
Providing any wider communications support required for the Communications and Campaigns team

Skills:
Strong writing and editing skills
Solid experience of pitching news stories and features to a range of media outlets and achieving positive coverage
highly organized
good attention to detail
Skilled at relationship building
Good operational knowledge of social media (NB- for your info only- this is desirable rather than essential, however most PR people these days have these skills given the integrated nature of modern communications)

Qualities:
Able to demonstrate sensitivity when sourcing and checking case studies
Strong team player
Adaptable
Strong emotional intelligence and good judgement
