PR Manager

I’m thrilled to be partnering with Eden Project Communities as they look to hire a new PR Manager who will design, deliver and sell in campaigns and media stories as part of a fantastic, hard-working team. Your role will be to enable Eden Project Communities to engage and reach more people across all media channels both nationally and regionally, to inspire community action.

The charity has a big year ahead with involvement in HM The Queen’s Jubilee, and they are keen to bring someone in now who can support through that in 2022, subject to funding. Their primary aim is to drive awareness and participation in The Big Lunch and other Eden Project Communities’ campaigns and ideas.

The ideal candidate: Working into the Head of PR and Campaigns, the post holder will be an exceptional communicator, able to deliver campaigns that secure a strong media presence. They will be able to accurately research, tailor, target and proactively develop content that is compelling to secure coverage in national and regional UK media including television, radio, newspapers, magazines and online.

Ideal experience will have been developed either in a media or PR role, or a journalistic role, either within or outside the charity space. They are hoping to attract someone with journalistic experience,  the ability to not only write a fantastic PR story, but be able to ‘sell-in’ to the media and get the story placed.

Key knowledge and skills:

  • You will have experience in a media role, ideally in journalism or as a PR professional with experience of delivering successful consumer facing campaigns.
  • A dynamic, strategic thinking and highly-organised media professional with knowledge and an interest in news and what makes it, understanding the media landscape and what is required to secure publicity in it.
  • Experience in building target media lists, developing a media network and maintaining relationships with journalists, influencers and broadcasters is essential.
  • Strong social media and multi-media skills highly desirable along with excellent interpersonal skills to support events, clients, funders, celebrities, VIPs and the senior team.

Salary £30-£32k

The charity is looking to review applications on a rolling basis. For more information, please e-mail your CV to Hannah.whittington@harrishill.co.uk

I look forward to hearing from you.
