Press and Public Affairs Officer

Job description

Harris Hill is delighted to work with a national children's charity, looking for a Press and Public Affairs Officer ASAP for 2 months on a remote basis.

The role will include:

To draft reactive and proactive press releases and comments
To proactively support the Press and Public Affairs Director to respond to public affairs, public relations and campaigning opportunities.
To gather evidence, case studies and other information as required to support the Alliance's strategies for press, public affairs and campaigning.
To draft briefings for MPs, journalists and other opinion formers, both directly and through support networks in order to influence and persuade.
To implement the regional and local press and campaign strategies, as agreed by the Press and Public Affairs Director, liaising as appropriate with staff, members and volunteers.
To arrange meetings and events as necessary to support the work of the Alliance's press, public affairs and campaign strategy.
To act as the first point of contact for the local and regional media.
To maintain administrative systems to enable the organisation to respond to consultations, calls for evidence etc.
To support members to manage their own press and public affairs issues.
To research and write reports, articles and correspondence as directed.
To carry out the role in line with the organisations Standards and Values.

 

This role can also be paid on a Ltd/ Umbrella basis at a rate of £21ph.
