Programme Coordinator

Job description

An international human rights charity are looking for a Programme Coordinator to provide support to the Director, the Council and Trust, and coordinate the contribution to the Annual Conference. The position also provides support to the Deputy Director and oversees the intervention letter, trial observation, and legal internship programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
-Manage the Legal Internship Programme of 5 full-time Interns; including liaising with Programme Manager to choose applicants for the programme, managing the inyterns workload and all administrative duties
-To organise and support the trial observation programme- including; drafting trial observation budgets and funding applications, completing trial observation project reports for funders; recruit trial observers and interpreters/translators; compiling and completing case-specific briefing materials
-To manage the organsiastion's contribution to the annual conference, Mid-Year meetings and Management Board meetings, attending the Annual Conference and Mid-Year meetings
-Arrange travel logistics for Co-Chairs, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, Council Members and speakers, including organising payments and reimbursements;
-To support the Director including task such as; Preparing quarterly update reports for Co-Chairs, take notes of weekly department meeting minutes; support the coordination of  events and meetings, assisting with reports and ad-hoc project work

Skills and Experience required:
-LLB preferred or BA/ BSc degree in related subject
-Experience in busy working environment or human rights/ charitable/ not for profit/ NGO environment;
-Demonstrate good understanding of importance of administrative management;
-Experience of dealing with senior professionals
-Prior (paid or voluntary) administrative experience
-Excellent time management and organisation skills
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
-Strong administrative skills with an eye for detail;
-Ideally Management experience;
-Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
