Programme Development Manager

An international charity that helps women become successful entrepreneurs are currently looking for an experienced Programme Development Manager. You will play a vital part in managing complex partnerships and supporting programme implementation, in line with our on-going commitment to achieve maximum impact for the NGO members. This is a particularly exciting time to join the team, as they are implementing an ambitious 5 year strategy that will grow the income, expand the geographic footprint, and enable them to deliver even more impact for women entrepreneurs worldwide. This role is highly international, working especially with colleagues across Afghanistan, Kenya, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
Key responsibilities
Ensure effective delivery of a portfolio of institutional and corporate grants, working closely with the charity's network partners. Provide technical support and advisory where necessary.
Provide high quality project information to both internal and external stakeholders, extracting and quality assuring project data relevant for reporting, and making sure all projects are compliant with donor requirements
Feed into and/or roll-out new project management tools and monitoring systems as needed
Work with Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Advisor to ensure challenges, opportunities, and learning that emerge from programmes are captured, and subsequently fed into new programme design.
Proactively manage relationships with existing donors, developing engagement strategies, sharing key information, and laying groundwork for follow-on funding.
Lead proposals for new and existing donors, coordinating inputs from the charity's and network colleagues, drafting technical inputs, and engaging with funders where required

Person specification

Significant experience managing complex international development projects within an NGO, government or the private sector. Previous experience leading livelihoods or women's economic empowerment project will be an advantage
Previous experience engaging directly with large donors, both in person and via written reports.
Demonstrated experience of successfully running projects in complex matrix or network organisations.
Significant previous experience working with project management tools such as logframes, workplans, and risk matrices as these will be central to the role
A good understanding of proposal management, including project design and proposal writing.
