Programme Manager

A membership organisation are looking for a Programme Manager to play a key role in creating and managing a national Business Innovation and Growth programme that encompasses networking, awards, business support, accelerator mentoring and affordable workspace.

The role involves handling multiple budgets, line management of staff and management of operational inter-dependencies across the department as well as working with other departments and external partner organisations and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
-Lead on the development of a business case to support the launch of the Accelerator (affordable workspace)
-Ensure the team develops partnerships with affordable workspace providers, incubators and accelerators across the UK and Ireland aiming for minimum of 3 such partnerships in year one
-Develop an accelerator mentoring scheme to support Accelerator Tenants working of ground-breaking physics-based innovation (quantum, photonics, medical tech)
-Develop relationships with investors, funders and business support providers
-Develop innovative ways to increase member engagement and drive up customer satisfaction metric
-Develop activities such as innovation forums and technology exhibits
Lead the Business awards, ensuring high value to winners and their wider participation in for business
-Lead on the delivery of a Parliamentary reception to celebrate success of award winners and responsible for ensuring engagement of senior stakeholders in Government, Business and Funding bodies
-Provide management oversight to ensure the team's successful delivery of over 50 Groups including governance, committees, budgets, member participation and digital presence as well as progressing potential new groups
-Oversee the prestigious Awards programme (science awards, honorary fellows etc.), including coordination across other departments and excellent stakeholder engagement

Skills and Experience required:
-Experience of operating accelerator and incubator business support programmes and networks
-Experience of working with entrepreneurs and physics-based (tech) SMEs and start-ups
-Business support, investment readiness and/or knowledge transfer experience
-Experience of developing and managing multiple stakeholder relationships, including business support organisations and investors
-Knowledge of UK science and innovation landscape
-Negotiation skills the capability to explore different positions and alternatives to reach outcomes that gain acceptance of all parties
-Influencing skills - the ability to bring others to your way of thinking diplomatically
Leadership the capability to promote and generate co-operation so to achieve collective outcomes; fosters the development of a common vision
