Programme Officer

Job description

A charity are looking for a Programme Officer for a 6 month contract to assist in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Foundation's projects and programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
-Act as the first point of contact for grant applicants to the Foundation;
-Assist with the promotion of funding opportunities to potential applicants;
-Process grant applications using the database; Maintain and update the database
-Assess grant applications and provide recommendations to the Programme Manager;
-Manage a small portfolio of charity partnerships
-Assist with the co-ordination of relationships with Strategic Partners, Designated Charities and Community Investment Fund partners;
-Assist with the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of charity partnerships;
Carry out research into the issues facing young people and their communities in London and the South of England;
-Assist with the recruitment and management of volunteers
-Produce reports for the board
-Assist with the planning and delivery of events
-Assist with the creation of content for the charity's website, social media, newsletters and publications;


Skills and Experience required:
-Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
-Experience of working within or with the voluntary, charity or community sector
-Demonstrable interest in grant making and funding
-Track record of delivering and reporting against targets
-Ideally experience of project or programme management and knowledge of grant making
-Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office packages
-Excellent attention to detail
-Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships
-Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop evidence-based insights
-Strong numeracy skills
-Ability to assimilate large quantities of information and present this in a way that is clear, concise and accessible
