Job description

A charity are looking for 2 Project Managers to successfully project manage a key strategic project within the charity's Strategy Development programme. Their office is based in Haywards Heath but can be based remotely if you are happy to come inot the office at least once or twice a week.

The charity is about to undertake a Strategy Development programme of work to define their purpose, direction and priorities.

They are looking to recruit two project managers on a fixed term contract until November 2020 to help drive forward two strands of the project - Income Generation and Identity.

The Income Generation scope of the project will be focussed on developing an Income Generation Strategy which provides the sustainable levels of income that we need to deliver our other strategic aims and providing an opportunity to better align Income Generation activities with our charitable delivery and communication activities.

This Identity strand will be focussed on developing and launching a new 'brand' (covering culture, values, proposition and visual identity) and will enhance our ability to deliver our strategy through improved engagement. The project will aim to define who we are, what we stand for, and what we do with the aim of developing our identity which better reflects our organisation to key audiences and creates an enabling environment for engaging people with our work and getting the support we need.

Other projects in the programme will be looking at Impact, People and Digital/Data/IT architecture.

Project Management skills are essential as is charity/fundraising/marketing/strategy development contextual knowledge as they really do need people who can hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities:
-To be responsible for all aspects of the project management process, following agreed approach to project management.
-To act as a champion for agreed project management process.
-Acting as the main point of contact for the project and managing and leading project teams.
-To provide input into the production, of key project documentation (business case, project initiation documents)
-To assume overall responsibility for the project risks and issues, ensuring these are being effectively managed and escalated where necessary
-To manage other key project documentation including actions, issues and decisions logs
-To maintain and manage communications with key stakeholders, including production of Communication plans.
-Produce and maintain the project plan and manage deliverables in line with the plan
-Produce regular progress reports for the Project Sponsor and Project Board
-To identify, develop and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
-To monitor and report on project expenditure against the project budgets.
-Undertake post project review and documenting lessons learned

Skills and Experience required:
-Recognised Project Management qualification
-Experience of managing and leading multi-disciplinary project teams
-Proven track record of successful project delivery
-Experience of project planning and resourcing
-Experience of working in the charity sector
-Influential and persuasive communicator with the ability to communicate with people at all levels within the organisation
-Clean, UK Driving license
