Project Manager - Clinical Development

Job description

An animal charity are looking for a Clinical Development Manager to help improve their veterinary services. You will be responsible for identifying the needs of those who use and deliver the charity's veterinary services now, and in the future. Using this information, you will lead on the research, design, prototyping and delivery of innovative, yet sustainable, approaches to providing veterinary care, in alignment with the charity's strategic aims and impact framework.

As the Clinical Development Manager, you will take the lead on the development and improvement of innovative, sustainable veterinary services. You will make sure that pet owners, hospital teams and suppliers are placed at the heart of improvements. Capturing user insight, you'll use it to inform the design of new veterinary service models whilst also improving existing processes. Additionally, once an evidence base has been created, you will bring your designs to life and take the lead on implementation and evaluation prior to passing them to operational teams

The role can be home-based with travel to Burford, Oxfordhsire


Key Responsibilities:
-Develop and maintain the user portfolio for the charity's clinical services, to include insight on client demographics and user needs.
-Routinely conduct research with existing, and potential, service users to understand their needs and experiences by identifying trends in their responses.
-Using insight gained from user research, lead on the design, prototyping and delivery of innovative, and where suitable, digital, approaches to providing veterinary services to pet owners in need.
-Manage all projects according to time, budget and scope, and in line with the relevant project governance framework.
-Monitor trends in relevant areas such as social welfare, digital vet care and user research, and share knowledge with the wider Clinical team, for Blue Cross to adapt accordingly to the rapidly changing external landscape.
-Work with the Head of Clinical Development to develop the overall clinical development business plan and budget.
-With input from the relevant stakeholders, set, manage and reforecast all own project budgets.
-With the Clinical Administration Manager and other relevant stakeholders, routinely review the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical development services, in order to identify areas for improvement.
-Input to and where appropriate, lead on the production of business cases and proposals.
-Support relevant projects within the wider clinical directorate by providing user insight, project management and service design expertise.
-Champion user research across the charity and act as an ambassador of our service users, both internally and externally.

Skills and Experience required:
-Educated to degree level in a business, social sciences, or IT related subject, or equivalent work experience.
-Project management qualification such as PRINCE2/AGILE, or clear demonstrable experience managing a variety of projects through the full project cycle
-Ability to use a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods
-Process analysis and mapping, including use of Microsoft Visio
-Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, to include report writing, business cases, proposals, presentation delivery and workshop facilitation
-Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Excel
-Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels in the organisation, as well as externally
-Knowledge of the digital landscape, how it is changing and influencing consumer behaviour
