Senior Development Lead (Major Giving)

Are you looking for a new senior challenge in High Value Fundraising? Harris Hill are working exclusively with a brilliant programme affiliated with the University of Oxford in their search for a new Senior Development Lead.

This vital role reports to the Director of Advancement and Engagement, International, and plays a key role in the management of the mid-level fundraising prospect pipeline with the aim of proactively developing and implementing effective fundraising strategies to secure major gifts.

The candidate will be proactive, result oriented, self-motivated with a strong drive towards getting out in the field, developing purposeful and effective relationships with potential donors. The post holder will be expected to spend the greater part of her/his/ their time identifying, meeting and cultivating current and many more new prospective donors primarily in the United Kingdom.

The post holder will manage a portfolio of 80-100 major gifts prospects. The post holder will be responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of potential donors, typically in the range of £10,000-£1,000,000.

To apply for this role:

  • Significant fundraising experience (ideally 5 years' or more) with a strong track records of identifying, cultivating, soliciting 5-7 figure donations and successfully closing multiple gifts during a financial year
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate across a broad range of cultural, educational and social backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of current fundraising methods, best practices, and fundraising tools/technologies (knowledge and experience of Salesforce or other databases would be ideal)

Salary is circa £45,000 - £65,000
