Senior Development Officer

I am currently looking for a Senior Development Officer to manage key elements of delivery, related to funded programmes and seeking new opportunities for an amazing national charity on a 2 year FTC.
This role will see you working alongside the Director and members across the charity's important programmes of policy, practice and research affecting bereaved people.
You will have expertise at a senior level in bereavement practice and/or policy. You should be highly motivated and an experienced project manager, confident in analysing data, influencing policy and supporting practice development in voluntary sector or statutory organisations.
Excellent project management and communication skills are essential for this role as are strong IT and writing skills along with experience of campaigning and running events. You need to be passionate about what you do, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable working both independently, with team members and with others in our partner organisations.
Key Accountabilities
Lead the development and delivery of specific bereavement projects including public-facing and policy campaigns, events and practice improvements, ensuring they are delivered to a high quality, on budget and on time.
Represent the charity at a range of external meetings and to the media.
Provide effective two-way communication between individual services and practitioners, and ensure services feel they are part of a bigger picture with national oversight.
Develop and deliver a variety of learning and sharing events for a range of audiences including frontline practitioners, commissioners, researchers and policymakers.
Lead the development and delivery of new areas of work as agreed, including exploring, proposing and developing project ideas and funding bids.
Develop resources, tools and networks that promote good practice, and provide support and guidance to local and national bereavement services.
Analyse a range of evidence to produce summaries and recommendations.
Consult with bereaved children and adults and with the sector to develop key messages and policy and practice positions.
Develop and maintain up to date knowledge relevant to bereavement practice and policy.
Report on projects, activities and budgets to funders, advisory groups and senior staff.
