Social Care Director & Clinical Lead

In our next Social Care Director & Clinical Care Lead, Chailey Heritage Foundation is seeking an ambitious and visibly inspirational leader, capable of winning trust and respect to lead our residential and community services for children and young people. They will also be the clinical lead for the Foundation, working closely with our NHS partners. At the same time, this pivotal role plays an integral part in our community - Chailey Heritage is not just an office, but a home, a school and a community for our children, young people and their families and loved ones.

We believe every child and young person has potential and, with support, can learn, enjoy, and achieve meaningful lives. From our beautiful site in the Sussex countryside, we change the lives of children and young people. We provide education and care services and are one of the UK's leaders in the field. Most of the young people accessing our services have severe cerebral palsy and many have visual and/or other sensory impairments. All are wheelchair users and very few have verbal communication. Key details:
Role: Social Care Director & Clinical Care Lead of Chailey Heritage Foundation
Salary: circa £65,000 to £75,000
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Near Lewes and Haywards Heath, West Sussex

Amongst other criteria, our new Social Care Director will have:

  • Experience of working with individuals with complex needs and ideally, high clinical needs.
  • Experience of senior management of regulated services and a track record of achieving excellent inspection outcomes.
  • Knowledge and experience within the relevant regulatory regimes.
  • A track record of working and developing positive relationships with Local Authorities and NHS commissioners and providers.
  • Experience of developing employees, securing a high performing culture and a track record of addressing and resolving workplace challenges.
  • Experience of working with / developing technology records and management information and committed to using technology to improve efficiency and outcomes for young people.
  • Experience of working for a charity, not-for-profit or public sector organisation.
