Supporter Care/Campaigns Assistant

Job description

I am delighted to be working with an amazing homelessness charity in search of a temporary Supporter Care/Campaigns Assistant to work effectively as a member of the Fundraising.

Main duties:
To assist the fundraising team in excellent stewardship of our donors in upcoming campaigns and appeals, ensuring all donations and communications are recorded accurately and in line with good data practise requirements.
To assist in organising our first in-person events for some of our most important supporters

Key Tasks:
Campaign and appeals support
First point of welcome for responses to appeals and mailings - relating in a friendly and helpful manner when dealing with donors by post, email, phone and face to face and third-party platforms.
Assist the Individual Giving Manager to ensure that all appeal donations and donor information are recorded accurately on our database, with good attention to detail, in line with data protection.
Assist the team to ensure all supporters are thanked swiftly and by the right person and that their details are accurately captured on the Centre's supporter database (ThankQ).
Personalising thank you letters to donors, understanding our faith-based donors.
To be one of two team members receiving telephone enquiries, with a warm and welcoming manner.
To provide administrative support to the fundraising team, particularly monthly reconciliation.
To provide practical support in the management of donated gifts and goods this Christmas.

In-person events:
Assist the Fundraising team to coordinate invitations and ensure responses are recorded in a timely manner
Supporting the Fundraising team to compile biographies and visitor materials.
Supporting the Fundraising team to accurately record and follow-up with attendees and leads generated.

Ad hoc
To support the fundraising department as needed in a variety of ad hoc administrative and logistical tasks.
Assist the Individual Giving Manager with proofing artwork and data as required.
Assist the team to update the Centre's online channels with appeal content.
Assist the team in trust research.

Person Specification:

Essential:
Excellent administrative skills with proven ability of capturing donor data accurately, paying close attention to detail in repetitive and methodical administration tasks.
Well-organised in administrative tasks, with the ability to manage own workload and prioritise demands.
Good communications skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of people, especially on the telephone and in writing.

Experience of using a database (the Centre uses ThankQ) and an understanding of why accurate data is important for successful fundraising.
Experience in donor or financial data management.
Willingness and ability to work flexibly including some early evening work, in December, as things get busy.
Empathy with the faith-based philanthropic motivations of our many catholic donors.
Willingness and ability to work flexibly including some early evening and occasional weekend work at fundraising events or open evenings.
