Volunteer Co-Ordinator

Job description

A faith-based charity is looking for a Volunteer Co-Ordinator. These volunteers work in Social Care with an experienced team providing one to one and group support to the community in areas such as managing mental health, bereavements, serious illness, coping with ageing, disability, and loneliness. They also work in Social Action helping to provide a drop-in centre for asylum seekers, night shelters for the homeless and many other services to help the most needy in the local community and beyond. Additionally other volunteers are actively involved in a wide range of activities across the place of worship including assisting with security, welcoming new members, providing Technical Support and arranging social events.


This role ensures sufficient volunteers are recruited match trained and supported for all available volunteer activities. The job holder will be assisting in the development and management of IT data management support systems and helping to establish best practise for every aspect of its work working very closely alongside the relevant staff in the place of worship as well as the volunteers themselves.

Person specification

  • Must have proven ability with ICT, data management systems and budget management functions
  • Must have had some personal experience, either as an employee or as a volunteer in a social care context
  • Ideally should have significant volunteer management or HR administration experience, including developing and maintaining accurate databases of employee/volunteer information
